Wednesdays, 3:00 - 5:30 p.m.

  • Kids love coming to KidZone because of the game time, crafts, Bible lessons, snacks, rocking' worship music, meals and friendships they build with the other kids and their leaders.
  • Each week, our caring staff and volunteers nurture and shepherd children in our KidZone program. Age-appropriate Bible teaching, discussion, fun games, interesting crafts, videos, drama and lively music lead children on their journey of discovery. Our purpose is to grow a generation of children who love God and want to know more about His will for their lives.
  • KidZone follows the Albert Lea school calendar and is for Kindergarten - 4th Grade. Includes a super-sized snack when they arrive in the KidZone Cafe and the program is absolutely FREE!

What happens at KidZone?

  • KidZone Cafe: As soon as the kids arrive, they will be able to sit down with a "super-sized" healthy snack. They can take their time as they eat and visit with other kids as well as the KidZone Cafe Hosts and Hostesses. After they are done eating, they can work on homework or play basketball, Legos, four-square, carpetball or just hang out until we break up into our game and rotation time.
  • Game Time: Every week we have 40 minutes of game time, where the kids play different games together. Just like adults, they need to develop and experience quality relationships through fun activities.
  • Rotation Time: This is a special time when we teach from the Bible. We have 4-week rotations, where we teach the same lesson, but in  4 different methods and rooms over the 4-week period. We have Scenes by the Sea (drama room); Creation Station (craft room); Starlight Drive-In (movie room); and Bible-Bytes (prayer, homework and computer room). We know that children learn in different ways and by using the rotation model, we hope to connect the stories of the Bible to the kids in one or more ways that will help the Bible stories to "stick."
  • Celebration Time:We end our day with 20 minutes of singing lively worship songs and we learn Bible verses that will help the kids throughout their lives. And we go over the lesson for the day.

Helping Kids "Catch the Faith"

Jesus holds children very close to His heart, and we at First Presbyterian Church want to do so as well. With God's Word as our highest priority, we have designed KidZone in such a way that kids can learn by using all their senses. Our mission is to make disciples by creating a fun, loving, and interactive environment where kids are encouraged to grow in Christ. We pray that your children's biblical adventure here lays a foundation for a lifetime of living for Christ!

It's fun each week to see how excited the kids are coming through the doors of the church. It's exciting to be part of this great opportunity that God has given us. "Jesus said to them, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.' "

We would love to have you join in on the fun and volunteer your time int he KidZone program. There are many opportunities and you can sign up for just a few weeks, half the year, or the full year of KidZone!

If you have any questions about KidZone or Sunday Adventures (our Sunday kids' programming) just let me know....
